Ellington Properties was founded in 2014 by Robert Booth and describes itself as a design led developer. Its leadership includes co founders Joseph Thomas and Elie Naaman, who is CEO, with Vamshi Krishna as CFO, Mark Amirault as Chief Development Officer and Kevin Yates as Chief Construction Officer. This Al Jaddaf launch is the next project under the Dutco Ellington brand, a partnership with Dutco Group that began with One River Point in Business Bay.

The Ellington portfolio covers 18 Dubai communities, including Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Hills Estate, Mohammed Bin Rashid City, Jumeirah Village Circle and Dubai Islands, and the company is now building waterfront projects in Ras Al Khaimah. Its better known addresses include the Belgravia series in Jumeirah Village Circle and DT1 in Downtown Dubai. The developer lists awards from 2016 to 2026, among them Best Residential High Rise Development for One River Point and Best Mixed Use Development for Costa Mare at the International Property Awards.

Al Jaddaf is a waterfront district on the western bank of Dubai Creek, long known for its traditional dhow building yards. Today it mixes apartment buildings, hotels, healthcare facilities and cultural venues, and the Art Bay Culture Village address puts homes at the centre of that cultural quarter. The area is served by the Green Line metro, a marine transport station with water buses, bus route C04 and direct links to Al Khail Road and Sheikh Rashid Road.

The creekside stretch of Al Jaddaf around Culture Village is a busy resale and rental market.
