DAMAC Properties was founded in 2002 by Hussain Sajwani as the property arm of DAMAC Group, which he set up in 1982. The Dubai developer has delivered 50,000 units and has more than 54,000 units under construction. In 2026 it announced the handover of 8,800 homes across Dubai, with deliveries in DAMAC Hills, DAMAC Hills 2, DAMAC Lagoons, Chic Tower and Elegance Tower. Its global partnerships include Chelsea Football Club and Oracle Red Bull Racing.

DAMAC began as a group business in 1982 that first focused on catering, before moving into real estate in 2002 when Dubai opened freehold ownership to foreign buyers. Its portfolio now includes more than 75 towers, with projects planned across 15 global cities including Dubai, Riyadh, Toronto and London. Branded homes are a core part of its work, with partners such as Cavalli and now de GRISOGONO, and in Business Bay its canal series includes Canal Heights 1, Canal Heights 2 and Canal Crown alongside DAMAC Towers by Paramount Hotels.

Business Bay is a mixed use district along the Dubai Canal, next to Downtown Dubai.
