Jaw-dropping Features of this massive plan

  • Standing on five pillars and supporting the five levels will be covering the public, commercial, and cultural spaces- it will be a mixed-use development.
  • The circle will be formed by the combination of two rings joined by a continuous green belt called the Skypark containing waterfalls, tropical vegetation, and various floras. The Skypark is planned to bring harmonious living and sustainability in the sky- kind of a payback to nature.

"Different natural scenarios and climates are recreated inside the continuous Skypark, forecasting a lively journey to the visitors and residents," Znera Space on its Instagram page.

"Visitors can experience the canyons, sandy dunes, and plants from various floras. Swamps, waterfalls and tropical vegetation or the digital caves, cascades, fruit trees and flowers of various hues and species together enrich the green ecosystem,"

  • It will also feature the areas to harvest rainwater solar power as well as a system to store carbon and filter out the pollutants as the part of urban ecosystem
  • This ring will also have a transportation system that would work in the outer perimeter. The passengers will commute with a tram holding two pods working at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

Address social and environmental issues

The project has been designed keeping the social and environmental issues in mind- to bring change in urban planning.

“When Covid-19 hit hard, we thought a lot about suitability and how can we change things, and how we can create better urban planning. We looked at aspects such as garbage disposal, food production, traffic problems, and pollution. We put all these things together and came up with the concept.” said Remess.

Inspired by Lord of the Rings movies

The basic idea behind this ring is taken from the Lord of the Rings movies that might not be as stronger to control the people of Middle Earth but surely can make Dubai a self-sufficient city.

“Usually cities begin with agriculture and then continue with urbanization. Today, many big cities are faced with the problem of how they can add more agriculture. This is one of the aspects we wanted to add to this concept — a self-sufficient city.”

Brings new ideas for high-rise gated developments

The main thought behind this is the designers hope to bring the concept that will serve to inspire new ideas for gated communities and skyscraper homes.

“We wanted to go down to the basics of how gated communities were established as a very horizontal built environment but you can’t have that here because of the dense urban fabric of Dubai. The best way to explore and practice this concept was in Downtown itself,” said Chowdry.
