The other five emirates that are also cities in the UAE are Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, and Fujairah, while the seventh emirate is Ras Al Khaimah. The capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, made it mandatory for its residents to have health insurance under a law passed in 2015. It was made mandatory for the companies and employers to offer insurance to their employees and their dependents. While this rule is applicable to some extent in Dubai, in the other five emirates, it is not mandatory to have health insurance.

Education system In Dubai: Schools And Universities

In Dubai, the cost of education among private schools is getting higher, which is why many ex-pat parents are choosing to home-school their kids or send them back to their home country to study. As of 2018, there are around 195 private schools in Dubai, and school fees in Dubai range from two thousand up to four hundred eighty up to 130 thousand dirhams per year; this does not include additional costs for books, school bus uniforms, etc. If you are looking for a good school for your child, do some research on Ed Arabia to ensure that the school is reputable.

Many expatriate schools are English-speaking private schools with British or American curricula, while others adhere to nationality-specific standards such as Indian Chinese, Japanese, German, Russian, and so on. The school year is divided into three seasons: autumn, spring, and summer. School days start at 8:00 A.M., and children finish their classes around 2:00 P.M.

During Ramadan, the hours are shorter. The demand for places is strong, which is why it is recommended to do early inspection and enrolment. A good place to start your research is this website, www.Khda.Gov.ae, which provides good information on schools and universities.

When you are choosing a school, pay attention not only to the curriculum but also to the culture and background of the school teachers’ students because there are significant cultural and regional differences between schools in Dubai. So, if you get it wrong, your kids can be struck in an environment where they feel uncomfortable.

Nursery schools accept babies as young as one-year-old, and children begin school at the age of five. Some private schools require entrance tests, so if you have recently relocated to Dubai, be prepared for your children to take those tests. Many schools in Dubai have education to secondary education so, they can study in one place from primary to secondary.

Housing And Community Development Services In Dubai

For eligible Citizens of Dubai, the UAE government allots land, and offers free housing or housing loans, residential facilities, and maintenance. The purpose and the approach of the Dubai government for housing and community service are to provide safety to Dubai Citizens and which is not very expensive for them.

The Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure is in charge of organizing the housing industry at the federal level. Additionally, UAE nationals can submit an application to the Housing Allocation Committee at the Presidential Court for housing or residential land. The Community Development Authority (CDA) offers temporary accommodation to those whose homes have been devastated by natural disasters or other disasters and are no longer appropriate for habitation.

The UAE Cabinet approved a new home financing regulation for UAE citizens in May 2022. This strategy states that the Sheikh Zayed Home Programme (SZHP) and national banks would work together to finance housing loans. The process of loan funding for Emiratis shall be entirely handled by UAE banks, and SZHP shall pay the interest on the loans on behalf of UAE nationals.

Essential Utility Services In Dubai: Water And Electricity

If you are a landlord and if you are renting a property on a long-term basis, then you do not have to pay utility bills. Utility bills are electricity and water bills. Obviously, these are also bills for the internet. But if you are renting a property on a short-term basis, whether for a tourist who is staying there or for somebody else, basically any rental that is below six months is considered short-term. So, you can rent it daily, weekly, or even monthly. In this case, you will have to pay utility bills and internet bills as well.

For obvious reasons, utility bills in Dubai are quite high in comparison to other countries. There are also differences in different areas because in some areas, the AC is included in the utility bill, whereas in others, the AC must be purchased from a third party. and the difference is significant.

Even the person living in different apartments—some apartments were more exposed to the sun—felt the difference in the utility bill. Here we call it the DEWA bill (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority), and what is important is that the biggest part of the utility bill is not a bill for electricity or water. The biggest part is the municipal fee.

What is a municipality fee? The municipal fee is 5% of the rent value spread over the entire year. As usual, it can go up to half of your utility bill. So even if somebody is not staying at home that often and is not using the AC, the water bill will still be there, and it can be quite a big amount. And on average, it is really on average because, as I told you, there are different cases where you need to pay for AC and where it is part of the DEWA bill.

I can tell you that the fees for a single bedroom will be around AED 500-AED 600, and for two bedrooms, the fees can reach AED 1000. Again, it depends on how many people are staying.

Is there anybody in the apartment during the day? For a villa, the budget is AED 2,200–AED 3,700. It is always expensive for villas because of the swimming pool and the need for water for the grass. If you are an end-user who bought a property, then yes, you will definitely pay for it. And yes, you will also pay a municipality fee. when the tenant is opening his account with DEWA. The person is supposed to leave a security deposit. With this security deposit, the landlord does not have to worry that the tenant will have a big outstanding amount.

But if someone is leaving your property after the rent is over, you should always ask for the final DEWA bill. You must return the security deposit to the tenant only after he has given you the final DEWA bill. Also, if the apartment is in good condition.

Public Transportation Services In Dubai: Metro, Buses And Taxis

Public transportation is available in Dubai, and I will provide all the information necessary for the person who went there as a traveller or lives there to have a proper understanding of how to ride the public transportation system so one can navigate around the city and enjoy the beautiful city. So, the first thing to remember is that if you want to use public transportation, you must have a public transportation card. In the city, there are three major modes of public transportation: buses, trams, and metros.

Public transportation is called "NOL cards," so I will be referring to the NOL card. So, the NOL card for public transportation can be received from any metro station in Dubai. You can get it at some bus stations, but typically people get it at the metro stations, and it will cost you 25 Dirhams.

There are two types of cards in this category as well: 1) standard silver cards, and 2) gold cards. The gold card allows you to take first class cabins on metros and trams, but it will cost you twice as much as a normal journey.

For example, if you want to go to the Dubai Mall, it will cost around seven dirhams, but if you use the gold card, it will cost 14 dirhams, so it is better to purchase a normal card to save money, but if you want big seats and fewer people, ride the metro. If the person is over 65, there is another card that will save you 50 dirhams on your journey, and you can also get a one-way ticket. For example, if you want to save money, the best thing to do is to get a normal silver NOL, which costs 25 dirhams, and it will be loaded with 19 dirhams for you to use. With the 19-dirham credit, you could use it on metros or any other public transportation.

Any type of public transportation, including buses, will not accept cash or coins. For example, if you want to ride a bus but you do not have a car just yet and you want to ride the bus, you cannot ride the bus unless you have this Noble card. This card is convenient because it can be charged at a variety of locations, including metro stations, bus stations, and some tram stations. You can also charge it online. You can also charge the card using an app provided by Dubai's public transportation system.

The least amount you have to charge up the card for is 7.5 Dirhams. If your card is less than 7.5 Dirham, you are not allowed to ride public transportation.

Different Types Of Public Transportation.

It all depends on where you live. For example, there is a place in Dubai where buses come every half hour, but there is only one bus that leaves from where the person needs to go. The bus will take them toward the metro station, and from the metro station, the person can move to where they want to go. To check the bus schedule, use Google Maps. In Dubai, Google Maps is the most effective way to check the schedule of buses. There is also an app from the public transportation authorities that will provide the different methods of public transportation one needs to take in order to get where one needs to go, and it will also show you the bus times and have a map of the metro system.

Metro Station: There are three different cabins. There are normal cabins, for which one uses their null card; first-class cabins, for which one uses their first-class card, which doubles the journey; and a women's and children's car, for when you want to ride the metro but don't want to be surrounded by so many men.

Law Enforcement And Public Safety Services In Dubai

Dubai and the UAE overall are Muslim nations, but they do not enforce those laws on ex-pats because most people are ex-pats. They are wealthy, moving their money, moving their businesses, wanting to pay zero taxes, wanting to live with the motivation of this city, and for those people, there are specific laws, rights, and protections that are not available to locals.

Financial Protection: If someone tries to scam you, or tries to force you to buy a crashed car without telling you, or if a developer tries to scam you for property, or if someone tries to scam you for a service, you can easily take those people to court or to the police. You will be protected if you provide proof of the scam. It is not like 10 or 20 years ago when you could do whatever you wanted. They take it very seriously here because they know that wealthy people are coming and putting their money here, and they need to be protected. If you hire a ton of people and all those people start doing whatever they want, you have employment rights and also employee rights. It is not like 10 years ago when you could just take their passport and lock them in their job. No, they are also protected, so whenever you come here and put your money or buy a service from a company, you can rest assured that you are safe. All the people have government protection.

Dress Code in Dubai: they must always wear black clothes, which previously only applied to religious sites such as mosques or government offices. So, if you go to the government office, do your medical test, get your ID fingerprint to become a resident, or open a bank account, then obviously do not go in a tank top with shorts. Go in jeans; go in long pants. Wear a nice shirt; it looks nice because it is an official government building, but if you go to the beach, you can wear whatever you want.

The Dubai government has launched the most significant initiative ever known as the SPS at D3. SPS stands for the smart police station, and it is the first of its kind in the Middle East. Not only does the SPS provide services available at a traditional police station, but it does so while ensuring visitors can complete transactions in the most comfortable and hassle-free manner possible. With a friendly user interface, zero human intervention, and a robust array of services, the SPS becomes my go-to destination to report bounced checks and more.

Despite the station being unmanned, the Dubai Police also understands the importance of face-to-face communications for more serious incidents such as criminal reports. The SPs make it easier to report a crime by offering privacy and the opportunity to interact with the police officer face-to-face and in real-time. SPS provides relevant experience for citizens of Dubai and tourists.
